Dive Winnipesaukee is thrilled to announce an incredible dive and exploration trip to Australia. The trip has 3 options of different lengths and Australian destinations. All of the options have been priced leaving from Los Angeles. This allows customers some freedom of choice in scheduling and paying for travel within the United States. Some may choose to use frequent flyer miles. Please be assured that we can assist you with arranging your USA domestic flights. Just let us know.

The name of the Live-Aboard vessel that we’ll be on in Australia is the Spirit of Freedom. There’s more information about it below.

OPTION #1: 11 Days / 9 Nights - Nov. 8 - 19, 2019, Explore Cairns, Australia; 1 week Spirit of Freedom Live-Aboard

OPTION #2: 14 Days / 12 Nights - Nov. 8 - 22, 2019, Explore Cairns, Australia; 1 week Spirit of Freedom Live-Aboard; Explore Sydney, Australia

OPTION #3: 17 Days / 15 Nights - Nov. 8 - 25, 2019, Explore Cairns, Australia; 1 week Spirit of Freedom Live-Aboard; Explore Ayers Rock, Australia & Sydney, Australia.

You will note that there are a few Optional Day Tours included in options 2 and 3, however, there are many more that can be selected.  Information on other Optional Day Tours will be available at a later date.  Please note that the Optional Day Tours are not organized group tours.

TRIP OPTION #1: 11 Days / 9 Nights - Nov. 8 - 19, 2019, Cairns, Australia; 1 week Spirit of Freedom Live-Aboard
This itinerary departs from Los Angeles on Friday evening, Nov.8th, with arrival in Australia on Sunday, Nov. 10th. Stay in Cairns, Australia for one night before boarding the Spirit of Freedom the next morning (Monday).  You’ll have the opportunity to perform 24 – 26 dives while on the live-aboard.  After disembarking from the Spirit of Freedom on Monday morning, Nov. 18th, stay in Cairns for one more night.  Depart Cairns on Tuesday, Nov. 19th and arrive back in Los Angeles on the same day after crossing the International Date Line.

• International Flights - Los Angeles to Melbourne, Melbourne to Los Angeles.

• Australian Domestic Flights – Melbourne to Cairns, Cairns to Melbourne.

• US Domestic Flights are not included in trip pricing.

• Accommodation - Cairns (1 Night), Spirit of Freedom (7 Nights), Cairns (1 Night).

• Shuttle Transfers - Cairns: Airport to Accommodation (Return).

• Live-Aboard Dive Expedition includes: Transfers to/from Cairns city.

This itinerary departs from Los Angeles on Friday evening, Nov. 8th, with arrival in Australia on Sunday, Nov. 10th. Stay in Cairns, Australia for one night before boarding the Spirit of Freedom the next morning (Monday).  You’ll have the opportunity to perform 24 – 26 dives while on the live-aboard.  After disembarking from the Spirit of Freedom on Monday morning, Nov. 18th, stay in Cairns for two more nights then travel by air to Ayers Rock in the Australian Outback for 2 nights.  Then travel by air to Sydney and stay for 3 nights.  Depart Sydney on Monday, Nov. 25th and arrive back in Los Angeles on the same day after crossing the International Date Line.

Each trip option has its own cost. Each cabin type has its own trip cost. We are pleased to offer a discount for customers paying by cash/check.

Marine Park Levy - An Environment Management Charge applies to all passengers entering the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.   $15 USD ($20 AUD)

Fuel Levy - Spirit of Freedom reserves the right to increase this levy without notice, in line with world-wide fuel increases.   $53 USD ($70 AUD)

Nitrox - Package (all dives on Nitrox) - $136 USD ($180 AUD)

Nitrox - Single Tank - $7.50 USD ($10 AUD)

Tipping in Australia is not customary, mandatory or expected.

To reserve your spot(s) on this trip, please stop in at Dive Winnipesaukee or call us and provide a $500 per person deposit right away.  You’ll need to let us know which trip option and which cabin type you’re signing up for.  A second deposit of $2000 per person will be due on September 15, 2018.  Final payment will be due on or before July 15, 2019.  Please contact us if you have any questions.
